FaceBook Changes it’s News Feed, Will This Change Be Good For Bloggers?

Facebook is planning on making changes to it’s “News Feed’ that will allow users to see more updates from family and friends” rather than those sometimes annoying business, brands and media post.

Within hours of making this announcement “Facebook shares fell 4 percent.” The article also stated that “this could also result in lining them up for its worst financial position in more than three months– and Zuckerberg losing $3.3 billion of his own personal net worth.”

Zuckerberg also states in his interview that “As we roll this out, you will see less public content like posts from businesses, brands, and media. And the public content you see more will be held to the same standard — it should encourage meaningful interactions between people,”

So what does this mean for bloggers? Especially for those of us our looking to make money on Facebook. Will our post be pushed out. Or will this be the new approach to advertising on Facebook?

Will advertisers, brands and media still want to use bloggers to promote their product and ideas?

“Zuckerberg posted to Facebook on January 11th. “That’s why we’ve always put friends and family at the core of the experience. Research shows that strengthening our relationships improves our well-being and happiness.(c101heart.com)”

From the article from c101.com Zuckerberg said “We started making changes in this direction last year, but it will take months for this new focus to make its way through all our products. The first changes you’ll see will be in News Feed, where you can expect to see more from your friends, family and groups.”

So from this last statement can we summarize that the face of advertising be altered in the coming months on Facebook. How will this change affect bloggers who do advertising for businesses, brands and the media?

I am looking for answers, because I am just now trying to expand and do some advertising and promoting on Facebook for different companies and brands.

Do I wait to see what happens or should I just press on and start reaching out to brands and business to promote their products?

What is your plan? How will you adjust to these new changes that Facebook is planning on making?

Please share your thoughts and opinions with me and others who are asking what you plan to do!
